Valdez came to us when his previous home wasn’t the best fit, and he’s been quietly showing us what a truly devoted companion he can be. This well-behaved, gentle boy may be shy and submissive at first, but underneath that timid exterior is a cat who absolutely loves affection. He adores being near his people, soaking up pets, and happily accepting brush sessions — one of his favorite ways to bond. Food and love are the keys to his heart, and once he feels safe, his sweet and loyal personality really shines through.

Valdez is low-maintenance and independent, but he will need a patient, understanding home that can continue helping him build confidence at his own pace. He would do best as the only pet in the household and would prefer a quiet home with older, respectful children if any. He is currently on a temporary calming supplement that has helped ease his transition, and with continued reassurance and stability, we know he will blossom into an incredibly devoted and loving best friend.
