He loves nothing more than relaxing beside his person, soaking up head scratches, and enjoying quiet companionship. While he’s generally mellow, Joey still gets playful spurts and loves batting around a cat dancer toy when the mood strikes. He prefers his affection on his terms—gentle head pets only, please—and doesn’t enjoy being picked up. Because he can get overstimulated, Joey would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where his boundaries are respected

Joey is FIV positive, meaning his immune system needs a little extra support, but with regular vet care and a healthy lifestyle, he can live a long and happy life. FIV is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, so Joey should either be the only cat in the home or live with other FIV-positive kitties. He may also do well with a calm dog who gives him space. Joey is looking for a peaceful home where he can feel safe, loved, and enjoy his days lounging with his favorite human.
